About Michelle

Since 2017, Michelle Franklin has been serving as your working property appraiser, marking a significant milestone as the first female Property Appraiser elected in Saint Lucie County history.

Michelle’s banking experience and time working in an independent appraisal firm served her well in 2004 when she was offered a position in the Property Appraiser’s Customer Service Department. In that position, Michelle learned each aspect of responsibility within the appraiser’s constitutional duties and moved up the ranks during twelve years of employment, earning the respect of her colleagues along the way.

Michelle is a Certified Florida Appraiser and was hands-on in helping the office obtain a Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration after a rigorous external evaluation. Under Michelle’s leadership, the office was named one of the Best Places to Work in Saint Lucie County and one of Florida’s Top 100 Companies. The office also earned an Outstanding Jurisdiction award from the International Association of Assessing Officers in 2021.

In today’s world, the safety of your information is paramount. Michelle’s unwavering commitment to technology and information security, coupled with her dedication to providing the best government service, ensures that your experience with the PA’s office is secure and reliable.

Michelle is dedicated to meeting her budget obligations and is proud to have returned more money to St Lucie County citizens through the taxing authorities, demonstrating her financial responsibility and commitment to the community.

In our community, you can find Michelle sharing her time and talents with numerous non-profit organizations, including the Royal Palms of Saint Lucie, United Against Poverty, United Way, Saint Lucie School District Advisory Council, and her current services to the Sunrise Kiwanis Club, Saint Lucie County Historical Society, Fort Pierce Rotary Club, Graceway Village Board and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board.

Michelle, her husband, and their two daughters have worshipped at Sunlight Community Church in Port St. Lucie for nearly twenty years.
